Meat Processing

This area is the cornerstone of all training within the meat processing package and is the foundation for food safety.  The on-the-job component consists of demonstrating competency in a number of labouring positions via a points system to obtain the qualification.  There are some 200 units across all facets of meat processing from which to choose.

happy processorsAMP20316 Certificate II in Meat Processing (Abattoirs) This qualification is aimed at new or experienced workers in all areas of the meat processing industry. In order to obtain this qualification workers must complete an off-the-job component, mainly consisting of hygiene & sanitation, quality assurance and workplace, health and safety.icon_spacer-vflN3BYt2

bonersAMP30116 Certificate III in Meat Processing (Boning) – This qualification is aimed at new or experienced workers in the boning room wishing to obtain a Boning or Slicing, trade-level qualification. The off-the-job component may be completed at Certificate II level or at this level. The on the job component consists of demonstrating competency in a number of positions via a points system to obtain the qualification.

slaughtAMP30516 Certificate III in Meat Processing (Slaughtering) –  This qualification is aimed at new or experienced workers on the slaughter floor wishing to obtain a Slaughtering trade-level qualification. The off-the-job component may be completed at Certificate II level or at this level. The on-the-job component consists of demonstrating competency in a number of positions via a points system to obtain the qualification.

icon_spacer-vflN3BYt2AMP30416 Certificate III in Meat Processing (Rendering) – This qualification is aimed at new or experienced workers in the rendering plant wishing to obtain a Rendering (trade like) qualification. The off the job component may be completed at Certificate II level or at this level. The on the job component consists of demonstrating competency in a number of positions via a points system to obtain the qualification.

AMP30316 Certificate III Meat Processing (Meat Safety) This qualification is aimed at process workers through to management wanting a career or an understanding of meat inspection. The qualification is for work in both domestic and export registered plants and is a requirement to be an AQIS Authorised Officer (AAO).icon_spacer-vflN3BYt2

AMP40516 Certificate IV in Meat Processing (Meat Safety) – This qualification is aimed at meat inspectors who have completed Certificate III and require Certificate IV as part of their AAO agreement for an export establishment or for those with a Certificate III who wish to pursue a full meat inspection qualification.  Certificate III and IV can be delivered together as a blended delivery over an accelerated time frame.

icon_spacer-vflN3BYt2Abattoir squareAMP40315 Certificate IV in Meat Processing (Leadership) The program is aimed at new or existing meat industry team leaders or frontline managers where supervision and leadership of work teams is a large part of their job. Included in this group may be owner/operators of small to medium enterprises that employ, supervise and lead others in their workplace.

icon_spacer-vflN3BYt2dipMPAMP50215 Diploma of Meat Processing – This qualification is for managers who are seeking to analyse and improve management processes and systems within the meat processing context. It is aimed as managers who are able to make changes to their work environment. They develop the strategies and tools to lead, develop and manage WHS systems and culture;  develop QA systems; manage projects; assess financial concepts; and manage and improve plant operations. This program is intensive and demands a lot from the individual, be prepared to apply your learning.

icon_spacer-vflN3BYt2Adv DipAMP60115 Advanced Diploma of Meat ProcessingThis qualification provides high level managers with the skill and knowledge to understand and change leadership and management processes and systems within the meat processing context. It is aimed at leaders who are accountable for the productivity of their workplace. Graduates of this program will be able to lead their whole organisation effectively: set strategic plans; benchmark their plant against other businesses; analyse and develop systems across the whole organisation; and assess legal compliance across a range of contexts. This program is not for the faint hearted but well worth the hard work.icon_spacer-vflN3BYt2agribusinessAMP70115  Graduate Certificate in Agribusiness This high level qualification is designed to stretch those in positions of change within agribusiness industries. It is designed for senior leaders who are accountable for their business as it requires commitment to making changes in their workplace through research and application at a high level. Skills and knowledge will be developed in: building relationships between teams in a manufacturing environment;  providing strategic leadership; preparing for and implementing change; and commercialising research and technology products/ideas.
